Meet the Artist!
Lauren-Poppy Mary Morley
Hello! I am an international artist based in Warwickshire, UK. I create hand drawn art from photos taken by my clients.
How the style was created

I am inspired by the work of Banksy. I first became interested in his work back when I was taking GCSE Art at school. My chosen art theme was Politics and I began researching him for a case study. I admired his ability to create street art and imagery that critiques society in a tongue-in-cheek manor. However, what most impressed me was his unique style and how recognizable his work was. I started mimicking his style using black acrylic paint and a paint brush, as apposed to spray paint, adapting it to make it my own. Over time my style has changed and become more detailed, but the idea has stayed the same.
How Dappled Designs started
I started Dappled Designs during lockdown in the summer of 2020, after my A-Levels were cancelled due to the pandemic.
After posting my lockdown creations on Social Media, support and interest grew.
What started as a lockdown hobby of painting in my garden, soon became my part time job during my four year degree at Loughborough University.
How Dappled Designs grew
When I first started out, I focused on people and celebrities in my paintings. However, over the last four years I have specialized in pets and pet portraits. This has been incredibly popular as so many of us love our pets and a pet portrait makes a meaningful gift for a friend or family member.
More, recently I have been commissioned to produce art of architecture and buildings, which I think suits my style very well.
Dappled Designs today

Following the launch of this website, I plan to expand the variety of prints I offer, adding to the already available collections and launching new collections of prints. I plan to branch out in different directions, offering not just art, but gift sets, home decor and more.
